Airwolf Aerospace has received supplemental type certificate (STC) approval from the ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil) to install True Blue Power TB20 lithium-ion batteries in AS350/H125 and AS355s.
The True Blue Power batteries are lighter than standard batteries, have faster cooling, faster charging, and cold capability, and hold an eight-year average life span on a two-year maintenance cycle for the TB17 and on-condition maintenance for the TB20.
Prior to this, Airwolf had received STCs from the FAA, EASA, Transport Canada and Brazil for lithium-ion battery installations in an array of Airbus and Bell helicopters, as well as the 480B, MD’s 369/500, and the UH-12E (FAA and Transport Canada only).
