Airbus has published its 2022 annual results, which show the helicopters division was responsible for EUR 639m of the company’s earnings before interest and tax (EBIT). This compares with EUR 535m in 2021.

The company said the 2023 prospects for the Helicopter Division remain healthy since while the orders taken in 2022 in terms of units sold were 13% down on 2021’s figures, the value of the orders was up by 9% to EUR 9,338m.

Furthermore, the company said that the number of orders taken in 2022 was up on the previous year’s figures even though they fell sharply in the final quarter as a number of expected deals were postponed thanks to fears of global recession in late 2022.

Airbus added that it expects that most of these postponements will mature quickly since the economic outlook has improved, and the fears of late 2022 appear to have been unfounded.
