Airbus Helicopters has opened its new 21,000-square-foot distribution centre in Ontario, which is set to speed up shipping timelines for critical components, increase storage for parts, and optimise efficiency by establishing a central distribution hub.
“The expansion of our footprint in Ontario underscores the strategic importance of Canada to Airbus’s global operations,” said Dwayne Charette, President of Airbus Helicopters in Canada. “This new integrated distribution centre represents a significant investment and a clear demonstration of our enduring commitment to innovation, local talent development, and Canadian leadership in aerospace. By deepening our roots here, we are not only proactively addressing the evolving demands of the helicopter market but also actively contributing to the economic strength and security of the region.”
The centre is also expected to generate over 300 jobs locally and strengthen Airbus Helicopters’ presence in Canada. The H135 was recently selected by the Ontario Provincial Police and the Royal Canadian Air Force; therefore, the new centre will be ideal for ongoing repair, overhaul, and spare parts support.
