ADAC Luftrettung, in partnership with the European HEMS and Air Ambulance Committee (EHAC), is proud to announce the return of the AirMed World Congress to Munich. From 16 to 18 September 2026, the event will bring back the world’s premier aeromedical conference to its birthplace 46 years after its inception in 1980.
The organisers expect to host up to 800 HEMS professionals from across the globe at the Congress to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and explore future trends in aeromedical operations.
“In 2026, we will continue the worldwide dialogue among aeromedical operators, aircraft and equipment manufacturers, as well as regulators. While focusing on opportunities for the patients deriving from current research and new medical and aviation technologies, we will also discuss strategic aspects for regions and healthcare systems evaluating the potential of aeromedical services to enhance emergency medical care,” explained Stefan Becker, President of the European HEMS and Air Ambulance Committee.
For 2026, AirMed will be held at the BERGSON art center, which will host dynamic lectures and discussions, and at the newly opened ADAC Air Rescue Campus, which is designed for hands-on workshops and mission simulations. According to the organisers, this dual-venue format highlights AirMed’s commitment to cross-professional learning, enriching the conference experience for all attendees.
Frédéric Bruder, CEO of ADAC Luftrettung GmbH, said: “With our longstanding expertise in air rescue counting nearly 1.3 million dedicated HEMS missions to date, we look forward to welcoming aeromedical experts and stakeholders back to Munich, the birthplace of the AirMed Congress. Our new ADAC Air Rescue Campus will provide an ideal setting for shaping the future of patient care by air, fostering innovation, and enhancing collaboration in aeromedical services.”
