US HEMS operator Air Evac Lifeteam has opened its 19th base in Kentucky. The new base is in London, Kentucky, on the edge of the Daniel Boone national forest in the southern part of the state and will serve the city and surrounding communities. The London base is also the first time Air Evac has deployed an Airbus H135 in Kentucky. Interestingly, the city will get its H135 HEMS service a year ahead of its larger namesake across the Atlantic, which will have to wait until next year to get its H135s.

“We are proud to be increasing access to lifesaving air medical care in the region,” said Daniel Sweeza, President of Air Evac. “Our new London base will serve patients and customers in Laurel County and many surrounding counties, as well as provide backup to the company’s other bases in Eastern Kentucky.”
