CHC subsidiary Heli-One  has established in-house testing capability for the AW139 Intermediate Gear Box (IGB) and Tail Gear Box (TGB) at its Canadian facility in Delta, British Columbia.

The company says that this new capability will expedite turnaround of MRO work at its base, but also widens the service options for AW139 operators globally.

Carolyn Forsyth, General Manager of Sales, Commercial & Customer Support, said: “The modification programme to our gearbox test cell to incorporate the AW139 IGB and TGB adds a new dimension to our service offering.

“It smooths and shortens the gearbox overhaul process, and in turn can enable operators to optimise their asset availability. In a broader context, it’s yet another demonstration of our determination to remain at the forefront of MRO provision internationally.”

Heli-One is exhibiting at next month’s EUROPEAN ROTORS in Cologne, Germany.
